Meizu's new MX6 offers an iPhone-inspired design for Android fans

Chinese smartphone Meizu maker may not be well-known outside of its homeland, but the company has got its fans in China, thanks to its iPhone-inspired designs for its products. And on first glance, it's obvious the Meizu MX6, launched earlier this week in Beijing, shares striking similarities with Apple's iPhone. That said, the Meizu phone does have its own differences. For one, the rear 12-megapixel camera is located in the middle, which makes it less likely your finger will accidentally block your shot compared with the iPhone. Another thing going for it is that unlike other  Android  phones, the MX6 doesn't have the usual back and recent apps button. Instead, the home button, which also serves as a fingerprint scanner, also acts as the back button with a simple double-touch of the button. You might be confused what I mean about double-touch -- instead of pressing down on the button like you do the iPhone, you just need to touch the button quickly twice. It ta...

Further, it does it all without the expensive and inconvenient infrastructure associated with a wired network. Use of USB wireless adapters  also allows for making internet connections at an ever-growing number of public locations like cafés and HOTELS . They also allow for direct ad hoc connections between Wi-Fi enabled devices without the inclusion of infrastructure devices like a router. There are a number of prevalent wireless technologies that affect just about all of our daily lives. Most ubiquitous are the cell phone networks. HTC 10

To be fair, the HTC 10 is very good. It delivers great benchmark numbers, makes quite the splash with its cameras and is more impressively built than any previous HTC device. Yet it feels rehashed, like its designers took a look at all the popular phones on the market and tried to tick as many of those boxes as they could. The HTC 10 is one of the top smartphones of this generation, and it’s going to make a lot of owners very happy. But don’t be surprised if this is the last major phone HTC releases. The company needed to surpass every expectation, and once again, it has fallen just a little short. Design Never has HTC made a phone of finer build quality than its HTC 10. The rigid aluminum chassis is svelte and hardy, broken only by two plastic lines for the phone’s antenna. More noticeable is the beveled edge along the back cover, a design choice that marks the phone as an HTC just as much as its logo. The camera, mounted in the center of the rear cover, protrudes sl...
